Air Force issued a press release to clarify the left tire explosion of an IDF aircraft which made the aircraft deviate from the runway at Tainan Air Base.” (July 21st, 2018)
Air Force Command Headquarters claimed today (21st) that an IDF aircraft (No. 1503) in Tainan Air Base started to have the regular training from 0759 am and the left tire was exploded on landing at 0938 am. The anti-skid brake was out of order and the left main tire got a puncture that caused the aircraft deviate from the runway. The pilot managed and left the aircraft immediately according to the emergency procedure. The aircraft was slightly damaged and nobody was harmed. There was no impact on taking off and landing of other civilian and military aircrafts. The Ministry had organized a special team to make an investigation of the reason so as to prevent the occurrence of similar accidents again.
